Presentation:
XML-Web Card from MGE UPS SYSTEMS is a network product used for remote supervision of your UPS from MGE UPS SYSTEMS and to initiate shutdown of multiple servers in a heterogeneous environment. XML-Web card is a communication card installed in a slot of your UPS from MGE UPS SYSTEMS. The card makes UPS information available on the computer network.
What you need to know
-
XML-Web card is the embedded version of the XML-Agent software component.
-
XML-Web card is used as an information server (XML format) for the UPS. The root URL for the web server is http://xxxx/mgeups/default.htm where xxxx is the name of the agent card or its IP address.
-
For the administration functions, communication with the agent is secure (SSL, i.e. https must be used instead of http and a password is required).
-
For the protection of the servers, communication can be via either http or https, depending on how XML-Client is set up.
XML-Web Card Architecture
3 components are used in the XML-Web Card Architecture:
-
XML-Web Card manages communication with the UPS (as well as local protection of the machine on which it is installed if it is a software agent).
-
XML-Client protects the computer systems. It runs using the resources of a Java JVM virtual machine installed on the protected machine.
-
A third component, a standard element on your machine, is your internet browser which is used to monitor the UPS.
More on XML-Client
-
continuously waits for information from the XML agent (XML-@gent or XML-Web Card) connected to the MGE UPS;
-
warns administrators and users if AC power fails and proceeds with system shutdown before the end of battery backup power is reached.
