Security and supervision of your computer networks
Today, UPS protection is not complete and fully effective unless it is associated with powerful software functions capable of warning users of power supply problems, automatically shutting down the system if necessary, and allowing them to automate the supervision and remote control of their UPS's. This is why MGE UPS SYSTEMS has created Solution-Pac, a new concept in network protection.
Solution-Pac combines the most desired UPS management functions on a single CD-ROM, for use in local or remote mode (SNMP) and covering the major network environments. And because control of your UPS is important to you, Solution-Pac is part of the RS232/U-Talk option.

Supervision of several Comet UPS's on an Ethernet network
Depending on your environment, you can choose from:

  • Connection via the server protected using the UM-Agent software that comes on the Solution-Pac CD-ROM,

  • Connection via the UM-Link dedicated server, capable of managing up to four UPS's.

These solutions are particularly recommended for the protection of critical network elements (servers, hubs, routers, etc.). UM-Link can activate or reset network devices by controlling their power supply. UM-Link uses:

  • The MGE UPS SYSTEMS enterprise MIB

  • The IETF standardised MIB (RFC 1628).

Comet supervision from a company platform using Management-Pac
If your company implements supervision platforms such as HP OpenView; IBM NetView 6000, Sun Solstice or Novell ManageWise, you can use the optional Management-Pac[TM] CD-ROM to monitor and administer a Comet UPS from your supervision screen.
