Comet S31 for security
Total security
By combining Comet's high reliability power with the supervision of the key parameters affecting the surrounding environment (room temperature, access control, humidity, etc.) MGE UPS SYSTEMS offers maximum all round security; meeting all your requirements and leaving nothing to chance.
Genuine fault tolerant systems
With its built-in static bypass, the priority for Comet will always be to keep the power flowing to your application. What is more, IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) technology contributes to the outstanding reliability of Comet, with, amongst others, the following advantages:
> Fewer components,
> Wide component operating tolerances to handle the most difficult situations.
Full protection of your loads
Comet offers threefold protection:
> on-line configuration
> dual input/output filtering
> shielded against radiofrequency interference. In short, your computer system is completely protected from external disturbances.
Unrivalled specifications
> Active power in compliance with general market rules (power factor given at 0.8)
> Excellent efficiency due to low switching losses (better than 91 % for all output ratings),
> Input power factor correction and sinusoidal current draw eliminating all harmonic pollution of the mains,
> Choice of battery design life (up to ten years),
> Perfectly suited to the supply of power to computer loads without any oversizing of the UPS. As a result, harmonic distortion at the inverter output is the lowest on the market.
Enhanced protection with Battery Monitor
The Comet battery offers many outstanding features:
> Charger complying with all international standards,
> Charge cycle adapted to ambient temperature changes,
> Protection against deep discharge,
> Precise measurement of remaining backup time (patented by Merlin Gerin and CEAC),
> Physical separation between battery and electronic modules.
In addition, the Battery Monitor carries out tests automatically at regular intervals:
> Battery circuit test every 12 hours,
> Open-circuit battery test every month,
> Partial discharge test every 3 months,
> Alarm indicating the end of battery service life.
These tests are completely user-transparent. Only negative results produce indications (lights on front panel, messages on Monitor Plus, etc.). Manual tests can also be carried out by maintenance specialists.
