can store patchcord overlengths. Cables enter the shelf on the right

supplied with pigtails and uniters pre-installed to save installation

Sirocco
Splicing Shelf |
The shelf provides the
splicing capacity for up to 8 connectorised pigtails to Sirocco Blown
fibre units. The shelf is supplied with one pair of connectorised
pigtails as standard and 3 additional pairs of pigtails may be added
when system up grades are required. Two Blown Fibre tube entries are
provided at the front of the shelf enabling 2 or 4 fibre Blown Units to
be installed.

Lead-in Unit |
Enables external cable to
be passed through the building fabric from an outside wall, typically
for business premises. It contains two separate units mounted either
side of the wall, connected by a length of conduit. It can be used with
Sirocco® blown fibre tubing or conventional optical cable.

Blown
Fibre Gas Seal Unit |
Typically used in business
premises, this is a wall-mounted unit positioned internally at the cable
entry point. Incoming external blown fibre tubing is attached to
internal blown fibre distribution tubing using gas seal connectors
within the unit. The connectors are used on both populated (with blown
fibre bundle) and unpopulated blown tubing.

Transition Box |
|
The transition box
provides the capacity to connect up to three external cables to three
internal cables to a maximum spliced capacity of 36 fibres. The box is
supplied with three splice trays each able to accommodate up to 12
splices, cable clamps and all of the components required for a full
installation. |

Patching
Shelf |
Accommodating up to 48
fibres, the patching shelf is compatible with both 19" and ETSI rack
practice. It provides a modular connectorised patching facility using
quick fit uniter panels, with each panel accommoding 8 connector uniters.
The connectorised pigtails are routed from the splice point to the left
hand side of the shelf. The connectorised patchcords are connected to
the front panel and routed off the shelf (right side) to the terminal
equipment.
