NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH ANNOUNCEMENT FROM AURIGA

NEW OPTICAL FIBRE CABLES FROM TYCO ELECTRONICS
Auriga, the optical fibre specialist distributor and longstanding partner of Tyco’s AMP NetConnect business, is pleased to announce that it is the first to be able to offer from stock two new cable types.

Rodent Resistance Comes as Standard

Single Loose Tube cables with aramid yarns as strength members are already industry standards. Replacing the aramid yarns with E-Glass yarns for rodent resistance is usually a costly extra.
Auriga and Tyco now offer E-Glass yarned, rodent resistant, cables at no extra cost for all the standard fibre specifications (OM1, OM2, OM3 and OS1).

Fibre-To-The-Desk

The other new addition to the range is a very thin 4 core cable designed for Fibre-To-The-Desk (FTTD) applications, where duct/trunking space may be at a premium.
Only 3.4mm in diameter, and also available in all the standard fibre specifications, the key benefit of this new internal cable is clearly the higher density with which it can be used to service the data points in individual floor or wall boxes typically in an office network installation.

Graham Lipson, Auriga’s Managing Director, comments “Through our strategic partnerships with blue chip companies such as Tyco, we’ve always been at the forefront of developments in Optical Fibre technology. These two new cables offer installers and their clients real new benefits at no extra cost.”
